'Half of a Yellow Sun' Movie

Writer-director Biyi Bandele has taken Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s engrossing 2006 novel “Half of a Yellow Sun,” a story of epic proportions, and adapted it into a well-acted and ambitious film. The plot revolves around the struggles, personal and political, of an extended family in 1960s Nigeria during the time leading up to and including the civil war that wracked the country from 1967-70.
