Samsung to invest in South African plant to capitalize on Africa, the world's fastest-growing mobile phone market

Samsung Electronics, the world’s largest smartphone maker, will open a plant in South Africa, a Trade and Industry Department official said. The company said it will make an announcement in two weeks.

The facility will be at the Dube TradePort, a duty-free area adjacent to the harbor in the eastern city of Durban, Trade and Industry Director-General Lionel October said in an interview yesterday.
