Nigeria is in talks with potential local and global investors to set up a national airline which is expected to launch in 2-4 years.

Nigeria’s Minister of Avation, Osita Chidoka, stressed the need for the existence of a private sector-driven national carrier that sufficiently prioritizes Nigeria’s national interests in addition to commercial interests.

Nigeria plans to spend about $2B within the next four years to revamp airport infrastructure and expand air capacity to accommodate rising demand for air travel.

Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Aviation is building new terminals at the country’s five international airports in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Enugu.
