Kenya & South Sudan sign fiber optic cable memorandum

The governments of Kenya and South Sudan have signed an MoU regarding the laying of fibre optic cables to South Sudan’s capital city, Juba, according to Capital FM.  The aim is to provide effective communication and smooth economic engagements between the nations.

South Sudan Communication Minister Rebecca Okwachi said the two countries will now have a chance to interact and communicate effectively. The project, to be funded by the World Bank, is set to run concurrently with the construction of the Northern Corridor road network.
