Kuben Naidoo named Deputy Governor of South African Reserve Bank

Kuben Naidoo has been named Deputy Governor of the South African Reserve Bank effective April 1st, 2014.

South African President Jacob Zuma appointed Kuben Naidoo, an adviser to Reserve Bank Governor Lesetja Kganyago, as deputy of the central bank from April 1.

Naidoo, who previously worked with Kganyago as a senior official at the National Treasury, joined the central bank in April 2013. He fills the position left vacant when Kganyago was promoted to head of the central bank last year and will become a deputy governor with Daniel Mminele and Francois Groepe.

“We wish the new deputy governor all the best in the execution of this critical responsibility in our country’s socio-economic dispensation,” Zuma said.
