Overhaul of Nigeria's government agencies aims to end excess

As well as being a professor of law, Nigeria’s new vice-president Yemi Osinbajo is a Christian pastor who preached at the same Evangelical church in Lagos as the new trade, investment and industry minister, Okechukwu Enelamah.

“This shouldn’t matter in the scheme of things,” quips a vice presidential aide, “but clearly God should be on our side”.

In the months since he left his Lagos flock and arrived at the presidential complex in Abuja, Mr Osinbajo has been quietly helping oversee a radical overhaul in the way government agencies conduct their business.
