Kenya beat Fiji to win first ever World Rugby Sevens Series title

Kenya dispatched Fiji 30-7 in the final of the Singapore Sevens to secure their first ever tournament win in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

Kenya, who defeated Argentina in the semifinals, were 20-0 to the good at half time and despite Fiji’s best efforts in the second half to force their way back into the game, Kenya ran in two more tries and were left to celebrate a maiden tournament triumph in what was their third ever series final.

Fiji, who knocked out South Africa in the final four, headed to Singapore as favourites but were left stunned by a brilliant first-half display by Kenya. The great Collins Injera grabbed a double while Oscar Ayodia and Samuel Oliech also scored to leave Kenya 20-0 up at the break.
