Ghanaian new media company, OMG Digital, raises $1.1M in seed funding

Ghanaian tech startup, OMG Digital, has raised seed funding of $1.1 million from international investors. Investors in this funding round include Kima Ventures, Soma Capital, Comcast Ventures Catalyst Fund, Social Capital, M&Y Growth Partners, Macro Ventures and a couple of angel investors.

OMG Digital is a Y Combinator-backed company and, through its OMGVoice brand, the company targets millennials in Africa with original pop culture, entertainment and lifestyle content.

The company been referred to in some quarters as the ‘Buzzfeed of Africa’.

OMG Digital currently operates in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya.
